Pandemic Express, Day 1

The last time I posted a blog was March 12, 2019. Well that's...embarrassing! I always intended to be a bloggy type of gal but I'm more of a "meh, I'll do it tomorrow" lumicks and that is why I'll never be the female Stephen King, although I do have the looks for it. Okay, enough self-deprecating, I'm here to report on my first day of surviving being at home for damn near 24 hours. I left for 30 minutes to walk my dog. Just in case you've been living under a rock, or on a meditation retreat like Jared Leto, we're going through a pandemic, which means the whole world is affected. COVID-19, the artist formerly known as Coronavirus, has got most of us holed up, either working from home, or working one of the most important jobs, full time parent. I'm fortunate enough to have a partner that is still able to make income working from home. As an esthetician and service provider, I kind of need humans to do my job and right now, we're ordered to stay at least 6 feet away from other humans to help stop the spread.

It's only been day 1 and I'm already going stir crazy, mostly because my 68 year old mom already drives me nuts, even pre-lockdown days. I have a 3 year old daughter and I'm trying to make the days fun with arts & crafts, today was Kinetic Sand day which was fun at first, then the clean up part came. Maybe I shouldn't have had her play on the floor. Shit was everywhere! Blessing #2 - the Dyson vacuum Christmas present my husband got me. That's right, I asked for a vacuum! I think I sucked up 60% of the sand...just kidding more like 5% but it's actually a cool product and really fun. It stays moist, has a sand quality but doesn't stick all over your hands. It's also fairly easy to clean up.

I'm trying to commit to 30 minutes of daily activity, not including the dog walking, which will be a combination of Peleton, stretching, yoga, core, or strength training. Not all at once, I'm not an Iron Woman for Christ's sakes! (Although I did push my mom's dead engined ass '93 Toyota Paseo from one side of the garage to the other, almost by myself. More on that in another post). Not all in the same day but mixing it up. I'm also committing to more content, via this blog, Instagram Stories/Lives, and (gulp) TikTok. At thirty-sexy (36) years old, I feel like I have no right to be TikTok-ing but hey, I currently have the gift of time, and Jessica Alba is all over that shit with her daughters, so why not me?!

Nutrition on the other hand...oof. I almost solely annihilated a tray of Betty Crocker brookies (brownie cookies) and today my husband baked cinnamon rolls with my daughter. I didn't mention trying to lose any weight, just to stay active.

Welp, that's day 1. Let's see what tomorrow brings.
